Singleton Recycling Statistics

Currently, there are over 22,000 people in the Singleton LGA, with HRR servicing 8,730 households every fortnight. Since becoming a member of HRR residents have recycled 6,124 tonnes of domestic packaging and saved over 16,876 cubic metres of landfill space. This has reduced Co2 emissions equal to taking 734 cars off the road permanently. Saved enough electricity to power  472 homes for a year and saved enough water to provide a year’s supply to 1,084 people!

2,072 tonnes was recovered for the period 2015 to 2016. This is 135 tonnes more than the previous year. The amount of waste incorrectly placed in the recycling service was 46 tonnes which is 5 tonnes more than the previous year.

On average each home recycles 232.01 kilos per annum or 8.92 kilos per fortnight.

eWaste:

46,041 kilos of eWaste was recovered in the year 2015-2016. A total of 188,620 of eWaste has been recovered since joining HRR in 2013.
